By measuring the smoothness of materials, the quality of materials can be controlled and adjusted. Principle

The two experimental surfaces are placed flat together. Under a certain contact pressure, the two planes move relatively to each other and the required force is recorded. The weight of the slider divided by the test force is the friction coefficient.
